The Project

Punta Brava is conceived as a pilot development project, based on responsible tourism as a catalyst for change in small communities with significant needs, located in areas with relatively undisturbed ecosystems. We believe that ecotourism is a catalyst for cultural interaction through which various productive projects can be activated, whether by the presence of visitors who consume products and services in the area, or simply by the cultural exchange between the native population and visitors, which enriches the community and generates positive projects and concerns regarding development.

The community impacted by the project is the village of Arusí, with a population of approximately 500 people. Its inhabitants make their living from fishing, logging, agriculture, the sale of imported goods, and some illegal activities related to drug trafficking. This last group has been growing due to the lack of opportunities for young people in the region, coupled with the widespread perception of quick and easy money.
